Endemol Beyond USA Announces New Digital-First Networks To Launch in 2015

Following the successful global launch of the ICON Network with digital pioneer Michelle Phan, Endemol Beyond USA, the premium content network of Endemol Shine North America, today announced plans to launch two new digital-first networks, including pop culture focused Looksy and Smasher, a sports & gaming network led by digital stars Toby Turner and Jesse Wellens, who combined have nearly 30 million YouTube subscribers.

Endemol Beyond USA is also set to launch two new series with global music superstar Pitbull in 2015–”MasterClass” and “Pitbull Presents.”

Music star Pitbull will produce two new series for Endemol Beyond USA, the digital-content arm of Endemol Shine North America, which also is launching two new digital-first networks — pop-culture-focused Looksy and sports-gaming destination Smasher.

The Smasher channel will include series hosted by digital stars Toby Turner and Jesse Wellens, who combined have nearly 30 million YouTube subscribers. Endemol Beyond USA’s two original series with Pitbull, slated to debut later in 2015, are “MasterClass” and “Pitbull Presents.”

NewFronts: Endemol Beyond to Launch Two New Series With Pitbull

A little more than a month after the launch of Michellen Phan’s ICON Network, Endemol Beyond USA is looking to replicate their success with a new crop of genre-specific, digital-first networks.

Endemol Beyond, the digital arm of Endemol Shine North America, announced Thursday at its NewFront event that later this year it will launch pop culture network Looksy featuring comedians Brittany Furlan and Andy Milonakis and sports and gaming network Smasher led by Toby Turner and Jesse Wellens.

NewFronts Day 9: Endemol Beyond USA Unveils Two New Digital Networks

When Endemol Beyond USA first went live as a multi-platform digital network in 2013, it boasted 80 million monthly views. Now it’s achieving more than 550 million views per month, according to Will Keenan, president of the US-based digital channels division of Endemol Shine Group.

In an effort to build on that growth, the company announced at its second-ever NewFronts presentation that it plans to launch two new vertical-oriented digital networks later this year. Looksy and Smasher, which will focus on pop-culture and MichellePhangaming and sports, respectively, will join Michelle Phan’s Icon Network under the Endemol Beyond family.

Endemol Beyond USA, the premium content network of Endemol Shine North America, announced Thursday it will launch two new digital-first networks later this year.
The two new networks — Looksy, which is pop culture focused, and Smasher, a sports and gaming network — will be distributed through a multi-layered, multi-platform system that is custom-tuned to audience and advertiser appeal.
